The Scottish Flag Trust maintains the Flag Heritage Centre and Saltire Memorial located within the village.
The village is the birthplace of Scotland’s national flag and the Heritage Centre ( a four-star visitor attraction) is a converted doo’cot behind the parish church.
An audio visual presentation tells the story of the 832 battle in which the white cross of St Andrew appeared against a blue sky and inspired the Scots to victory.
Admission is free.
