  • North Berwick Photographic Society are interested in anyone wishing to join them. If you are interested in photography why not take a look at their website at www.northberwickphoto.org
  • New Book published: ‘Scotland’s River Tyne and the hillfoots of the Lammermuirs‘. Here’s a note from the author: I have just published a book entitled ‘Scotland’s River Tyne and the hillfoots of the Lammermuirs’ – there is a section featuring Athelstaneford and its place in Scottish history. I have managed to negotiate a whopping discount with the printers and have achieved a 50% off the RRP. The book is now priced at 4.74 + postage. It is a wonderful offer and the book would make an excellent gift for friends or relations whether at home or overseas. To take advantage of the offer, simply visit   http://www.lulu.com   and enter Scotland’s River Tyne in the search box.

  1. The Poldrate Arts & Craft Centre at the Poldrate Mill in Haddington is holding its enrolment day 2-4pm on Sunday (9th Sept). There are lots of classes to choose from – painting, woodcarving, pottery, upholstery, stained glass, lampwork, basket making, kiln glass, printing. There are daytime and evening classes, and also some self-help groups (eg embroidery). Fees are from £24 to £72 per term, depending on the class – most are £48, with concessions available for most classes.

The Centre really needs your support, so please come along on Sunday, meet the tutors, see what they have to offer, and sign up to learn something new.
